- Peoples Beach to Beacon 10K Road Race - this year taking
place on August 2, 2003 - is a 6.2 mile run, starting at
Crescent Beach and ending at Portland Head Light, the

spectators, to the Maine coast, making it the largest road
race ever in the Pine Tree State. Joan Benoit Samuelson
